Alternative lyrics for “all change” - “no strange cheese”

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

I kid you not, when my girlfriend listened to my track “all change”, she came up with alternative lyrics, singing “no strange cheese” instead of “all change please”. I might use this for an alternative version…

“All change” - released 1st June 2007

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

My first song in the series of “2 songs a month” is called “all change”, a song inspired by a friend of mine who once fell asleep on the Circle Line, in London, and went around and around and around (yes, he was drunk!).

As you can guess from the story, it’s a rather funny song, with a strong electro vibe. It’s a little crazy and goes a little bit everywhere, as you do when you are drunk and can’t walk in a straight line

You can listen to it in the music player located on the right of the page, and read more about the song at http://www.natjm.co.uk/index.php?page_id=11

2 songs a month

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

So today, i’m launching my “2 songs a month” experience, with my first track, “all change”.

This is a new begining for me and i’m very excited. New name and new way of working, yeah!

Why a new name? For the first time in my life, i’m feeling confident enough about my own creativity to use my own name, and not hide behind a different name. So i killed off RachelAPP (www.rachelapp.co.uk ) and i am now making music under my own name, Nat JM.

Why a new way of working? Rather than wait until i’ve recorded a full album to present my songs, i’ve decided to adapt my recording to the internet age and present my songs as they come. So i will post two new songs each month and at the end of the year, they will be collected into an album.

Others have done this before, most notoriously Jonathan Coulton and his Thing A Week, and i’ve felt it very inspiring, hence me deciding to do it. My choice of 2 songs a month is due to my personal circumstances; 2 songs a month should put enough pressure on myself to make music rather than watch TV, but not so much pressure that i’d have to take some days off work to pull it off.
